Accessibility Statement
Effective August 18, 2026
ThereWhen serves older adults and their families, so accessibility isn’t an afterthought for us — it’s the point. We are committed to making our website and services usable by everyone, including people who may not have perfect vision, hearing, or dexterity.
Our commitment
We want every person to be able to learn about ThereWhen, become a member, and manage their care without barriers. We treat accessibility as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time project, and we work to improve the experience as our site grows.
The standard we aim for
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with a wide range of disabilities and more usable for everyone.
What we do
As we build and maintain the site, we work to:
- Use clear, readable text with generous size and spacing.
- Maintain strong color contrast between text and its background.
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images and mark decorative images so screen readers can skip them.
- Support keyboard navigation, including a “Skip to content” link and visible focus outlines.
- Use semantic headings, labels, and landmarks so assistive technology can make sense of each page.
- Design layouts that adapt to phones, tablets, and larger screens.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible. Third-party tools we rely on — such as our scheduling and payment features — are not always fully within our control. We are actively working to identify and fix these gaps, and we welcome reports of anything that gets in your way.
If you need help
If you have trouble using any part of our website, or you need information from ThereWhen in a different format, we are glad to help. You do not need to use the website to become or stay a member — we can assist you directly.
Give us feedback
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of ThereWhen. If you run into a barrier or have a suggestion, please email us at help@therewhen.co. Please tell us the page or feature involved and what happened, and we’ll do our best to respond promptly and put things right.
